Stanislav Molchanov

From 2016 to 2025,  Stanislav Molchanov was the academic supervisor of the laboratory.  Stanislav Molchanov is a professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a member of the American Mathematical Society.

Prof. Molchanov made a huge contribution to the development of such branches of stochastics as the theory of diffusion processes, the spectral theory of the random Schrodinger operator, the  theory of random media, theoretical biophysics and many others. Thanks to his contribution, the concept of intermittency has been introduced into mathematics and has become widely used in astrophysics. In November 2025, the laboratory organized a conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Prof. Molchanov. In addition, with the support of the laboratory, Springer is planning to publish a collection of articles dedicated to this significant event.
