A mini-course 'Actuarial Mathematics' Professor E.Bulinskaya

From 20 November to 28 November, Professor E. Bulinskaya (Moscow State University) delivered the mini-course, 'Actuarial Mathematics'.

The scientific interests of E. Bulinskaya include: random processes, limit theorems, problems concerning the stability of stochastic models and optimizing complex interest rate systems in the theory of stocks, insurance theory, mass service theory and other areas of modern probability theory. 'On the average number of intersections of a certain level by the Gaussian process'  was published by E. Bulinskaya as a student in 1961, and brought the author worldwide fame. The author's Ph.D. thesis and other works published by her around this time were the first in the country to research the theory of reserves. In 1998, the Executive Committee of the International Society for the Study of Stocks awarded E. Bulinskyaya a medal for 'outstanding contribution to the development of the mathematical theory of stocks." For the last 10 years, E. Bulinskaya has delivered a course on actuarial mathematics for actuarial and financial analysts.
